No this is not about the hoards of teenage girls that chased (or thought they were chasing) Justin Bieber across Sydney during the week. Although it does demonstrate similar levels of intelligence. The following discussion was overheard today on a bus (I forgot to take headphones, rookie mistake).
Had the two participants been two 7 year old kids it might have been acceptable, the idea after all sounds very much like something Tony Stark might have dreamed up as a kid. But alas it wasn’t a couple of kids it was two high-school-aged girls, which highlights two issues. Firstly it was a weird topic for teenage girls to discuss, secondly were they really that stupid?
So, what were they discussing? Well, it went something like this:

| Girl 1 | Super fans, you know, like big, massive fans that they could point up at the sky and blow all the clouds away… |

| Girl 1 | …I don’t know why no ones thought of it before, it seems obvious |
| Girl 2 | Yeah, if someone came up with that idea they’d be totally rich |
| Girl 1 | Yeah, totally |
| Girl 2 | It’d probably make lots of people angry though |
| Girl 1 | Yeah? |
| Girl 2 | Yeah, like those mother nature people |
| Girl 1 | Oh… I guess so. |
I had to stop listening at that point as I could feel my own intelligence being blown away with the big, massive, super fans stupid conversation. While I’ll admit its a cool idea, something you might see in a movie, its also stupid, and unfortunately the conversation between these two sounded way too serious.
